If , we, the American people seriously want to affect a real change as an alternative to the never-ending status quo of many self-indulged politicians in Washinton,DC, that oppornity is now clearly presenting itself. For the last eight years, the American people has made errors after errors in handling President Bush the office of the Presidency. Now, we have a real chance, a true agent of change, a maverick in his own rights who is not afraid to speak his mind, long determined to clean up Washington's spending mess and bickering political partisanship.
You know who I am talking about. The records should speak for itself. John McCain has more than 2 decades of trying to clean up Washington's mess. It is true that he always placed his country ahead of his personal interests, almost lost his life in defending it. Senator John McCain is indeed a man of extraordinary courage, of conviction to serve America and her people. His outspoken and desire to change Washington's political culture combined with his independent thinking sometimes got him into trouble even with his own political party leader(s). But, he'd rather be right for America than be wrong for his party. For example, the vote against his own hero, the late President Ronald Regan, in stationing troops in Beirut, and his leadership in pushing troops serge in Iraq. Those are difficult decisions for any politician to take when it goes against your own party and the unpopular sentiment of the country. But, John McCain believed he must do the right thing even if he lost the next election. Yes, thanks to senator John McCain, our troops will finally have a chance to come home with dignity and honor. He made a judgment call realizing that his long political career might come to an end on election day - A true experience of a war hero who understood the battle fields and what it takes to win. There is no substitute for such wisdom and courage.
He knows how to win, and we are winning to a point that we can contemplating pulling our troops home. For America to loose the war in Iraq, to allow the terrorists running that country at will would have been one of the greatest failures of American policy with potential consequences far beyond one's imagination.
Watching John McCain's convention speak last night, confirmed my overall thinking of past election 2000 when he first ran for the office of the President of the United States of America. After, the New Hampshire's primary, I was estatic that there was a chance John McCain would be our next president. It has been 8 years to see today, that now there is a real chance there. My father and I thought and always believed then and now that America would have been well served under President John McCain.
At a time of international instability, Iranian nuclear ambition, terrorists every where and Russian new expansionism attitude and policy, it would be a major error should American people overlooked the quality of their American hero, John McCain. I hope we don't take a chance when it comes to our own national security. Our enemies are working tiredlessly to hurt us in any way, at any given time. We truly don't want to wake up to another September 11, to realize that we might be wrong for placing our national security over our own personal bread-and-butter needs. The issues are inter-related, and they both are just as important. Having said that, without peace and national security, it would be harder to feed our hunger once our enemy manage to strike us again. President Bush is right when he said that our enemy can be wrong many times, but it only needs one time to plan right to hurt us on a larger scale. Don not forget September 11.
John McCain knows the economic hardships of the American people. He is just one of the senators, not the President. He had tried to control wasteful spending, balance a budget, and bring accountabilities to Washington. He had seen so many wrongs and so much wastes of our taxes which contribute partly to the decline of our economy. The failure of President Bush's war and economic policies can not be blame solely on John McCain because he happened to be a Republican. The American people need to look beyond the party brand, and get to know the real John McCain, and what he has done on records, not at all 100% perfect, but most of time he is right on the issues facing our country. On national security, he will keep America safe. I will sleep well with John McCain in the White House.
I have no doubt that President McCain will be able to turn around our economy just as fast and good as any one. His economic policy and his conviction is sound - control wasteful spending, keep our taxes low, personal and business wise, promote energy independence, and above all working with American companies to create new products which are environmentally sound, new jobs by open up new markets to American products - a once proudly recognized and admired around the world as "MADE IN AMERICA".
I will vote for John McCain in November, and I hope that my family and friends would join me in electing our next President and commander-in-chief, John McCain.
